Congratulations to Ashley Leslie, ALL IN’s January 2018 Athlete of the Month!

Tell us about yourself:

I am 28-years-old and grew up just south of Melbourne, Florida. I went to undergrad and grad school in Gainesville, Florida (Go Gators!). My athletic background mostly includes running- I did track and cross country in high school. I also dabbled in basketball for a while; I thought I was Allen Iverson. I work as an occupational therapist at the HealthSouth in Phenix City doing inpatient rehab and am currently transitioning to outpatient as well. I have been married to Sam for a little over a year-and-a-half. We currently do not have children but do have three dogs and counting. 

What is something interesting about you we would be surprised to know?

In college, I worked for the University of Florida as a scuba dive master. 

How long have you been coming to ALL IN CrossFit? 

Four years.

What made you start CrossFit? 

Kyle Donaghey used to live with me and Sam. He talked about it ALL the time and said we had to try it. The therapist in me said NO, we are going to get hurt, but I was willing to give it a try and absolutely fell in love with it! 

What do you enjoy most about CrossFit? 

It’s so fun to be in such a good community, and working out with my friends helps me push myself to do better.

What is your favorite and your least favorite CrossFit movement or workout? 

My favorite movement is deadlifts, and my least favorite is burpees.

What is your proudest CrossFit moment?

When I finished that disgusting thruster/ burpee Open workout 14.5 over 10 minutes faster during Open workout 16.5.

What are your future CrossFit goals? 

To finally deadlift 300 lbs.!

What impact has ALL IN CrossFit had on your life in and out of the gym? 

I definitely push myself harder and have gotten out of my comfort zone with lifting weights in the gym. Out of the gym, ALL IN was the first place I made friends when I moved here, and where all my best friends in town are. I only knew Sam when I moved here and was studying for my boards so I didn’t have any co-workers. ALL IN made my transition from Florida so much easier!
