Congratulations to Laurie Cahill, ALL IN’s March 2018 Athlete of the Month!

Tell us about yourself:

My name is Laurie Cahill, and I am 57-years-old. I am married to Mike Cahill, retired military officer. We have been married almost 31 years. We have two sons and one daughter-in- law. I am a former elementary school teacher and homeschooling mom. I have no athletic background except as a sports spectator.

What is something interesting about you we would be surprised to know?

I really hate cats.

How long have you been coming to ALL IN CrossFit? 

I have been coming to ALL IN for a little over a year.

What made you start CrossFit? 

I was desperate for some type of exercise that would help me lose weight and get in better shape. Nothing else had worked prior to  this to achieve that goal. 

What do you enjoy most about CrossFit? 

By far, the people are what I enjoy the most. It’s awesome to have such a great group of people to work out with. It’s a great place to make new friends.

What is your favorite and your least favorite CrossFit movement or workout? 

My favorite CrossFit movement is deadlifts. There are so many CrossFit movements that I hate (haha) but my least favorite is midline madness! Especially medicine ball twist!

What is your proudest CrossFit moment?

My proudest moment is when I finish the workout every day!!!!

What are your future CrossFit goals? 

To do unassisted pullups.

What impact has ALL IN CrossFit had on your life in and out of the gym? 

ALL IN CrossFit has made me stronger mentally and physically. It has been the most challenging thing I have ever done. CrossFit has shown me that I can do things I never, ever thought I could do.

What is your favorite quote or words to live by? 

Treat everyone the way you would like to be treated.
Don’t ever quit. Never give up no matter how hard.
