WHAT IS THE BTY CHALLENGE?
THE BTY Challenge is all about getting stronger, faster, and healthier. It is about looking at food in a new way- how it makes you feel, not how it makes you look. It is about educating yourself to make healthier decisions so that you constantly improve yourself and be BETTER THAN YESTERDAY.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- From Monday, January 13th through Friday, January 17th, all participants in the BTY Challenge will have their body fat percentage measured and recorded at the gym. Don’t worry- this will be kept confidential! Your body fat percentage will be measured again at the end of the BTY Challenge.
- Each participant will be asked to contribute $5.00 to the pot which will then be divided between the male and female winner of the BTY Challenge.
- Shelby will be giving a Nutrition talk on Wednesday, January 15th at 6:30 pm. You do not have to attend this to participate in the BTY Challenge, but it is recommended.
- All participants in the BTY Challenge who are on Facebook will be put in a private group where information and support will be provided and questions will be answered.
- During the week of January 20th, we will be doing two workouts at the gym and will record participants’ scores for them. The workouts will be repeated during the last week of the BTY Challenge.
- The BTY Challenge will last 6 weeks, officially beginning on Monday, January 20th and ending Friday, February 28th.
- A male and female winner will be declared at the end of the BTY Challenge based on improvement in body fat percentage and the two workouts.
WHAT THE BTY CHALLENGE IS NOT:
- The BTY Challenge is NOT a Biggest Loser competition. We are not looking at the number on the scale as THE measure of health. We will be looking at body fat percentage, strength, and endurance as the measure of health.
- The BTY Challenge is NOT a New Years’ Resolution. We are interested in helping you make lifestyle changes, not short-term changes.
- THE BTY Challenge is NOT about starvation or deprivation. By following our guidelines, we hope to open your mind to a new way of eating by showing you that it is not how much you eat, but what you eat that is important.
- The BTY Challenge is NOT just for those who have been longtime members of ALL IN CrossFit. It is open to ALL LEVELS of Fitness- no CrossFit experience is necessary!
